This guide helps you compare journalist databases for Dutch and Flemish media. It answers the questions a buyer types: what a database costs, what it includes, and how to choose one for your team. The guide covers the main suppliers that sell to Dutch PR teams in 2026.

It is based on pages we measured on 27 and 1 September 2026. You do not need to open any of the 25 articles below to understand the market.

What is a journalist database and why do Dutch teams buy one?

A journalist database is a list of reporters with their beats, outlets and contact details. Dutch PR teams buy one to send press releases to the right person. A good database for the Netherlands and Flanders covers national newspapers, regional papers, trade press, broadcast and podcast contacts.

The database should also list freelance reporters and specialist titles. Without a database, a team builds its own list from public sources. That takes time and the list goes out of date when reporters change jobs.

Which suppliers sell journalist databases to Dutch buyers in 2026?

Several suppliers sell databases that cover the Netherlands and Flanders. PR-Dashboard sells De Perslijst, a journalist database and sending system. The company is based in Amsterdam at Herengracht 450.

Other suppliers include ANP Connect, Prezly, Mynewsdesk, Prowly, Presscloud, Cision, Muck Rack, Meltwater and Notified. Each supplier publishes a different amount of detail about its database. Some publish a price, some do not.

Some document the number of contacts, some do not. On the pages we measured on 31 August 2026, Prezly publishes prices from EUR 100 to 250 per month. Mynewsdesk publishes from EUR 220 per month.

Presspage publishes EUR 20,000 to 35,000 per year. ANP Connect publishes prices from EUR 499 per press release to EUR 30,000 per year for a full plan. PR-Dashboard publishes EUR 2,650 per year for De Perslijst with two logins, read on 1 September 2026.

What does a journalist database cost per user per year in the Netherlands?

The cost per user per year is the most useful way to compare. A monthly price times twelve gives the yearly amount. Then divide by the number of logins the price includes.

The Amsterdam database includes two logins for EUR 2,650 per year. That works out to EUR 1,325 per user per year. Prezly Essential costs EUR 100 per month for one user, which is EUR 1,200 per year.

Prezly Standard costs EUR 250 per month, which is EUR 3,000 per year. Mynewsdesk Essential costs from EUR 220 per month, which is EUR 2,640 per year. ANP Connect Database only costs EUR 2,990 per year for one user.

ANP Connect Complete costs EUR 4,990 per year. Presspage Business essentials costs from EUR 20,000 per year. Presspage Enterprise costs from EUR 35,000 per year. The table below shows the normalised cost per user per year for the suppliers that publish a price.

What do you get for the money: database coverage and features

The journalist database from the supplier states its database holds thousands of Dutch and Belgian journalists. It covers virtually all media in the Netherlands and Flanders, according to the product pages read on 1 September 2026. The database includes national newspapers, regional papers, trade press, broadcast and podcast contacts.

It also lists freelance reporters. The price of EUR 2,650 per year includes two logins. That means two people in a team can use the database at the same time.

ANP Connect Database only costs EUR 2,990 per year for one user. It covers Dutch media and you can add Belgian media for an extra fee. Prezly Essential costs EUR 1,200 per year for one user.

Prezly hosts on AWS eu-west-1 in Dublin. Mynewsdesk Essential costs EUR 2,640 per year for one user. Mynewsdesk has 66 customer stories and publishes no Dutch-language pages at all.

It runs five language editions: German, English, Swedish, Norwegian and Danish. Presscloud runs on presscloud.ai in seven language editions including nl-BE and fr-BE. Presscloud publishes an MCP server page for Claude, Cursor and Zed. Prowly serves no robots.txt and no sitemap, measured on 31 August 2026.

How to choose a journalist database for your Dutch PR team

Start with the coverage you need. If you send press releases to Dutch and Flemish media, choose a database that documents both markets. The Amsterdam database covers the Netherlands and Flanders.

ANP Connect covers the Netherlands and offers Belgian media as an add-on. Check the number of logins the price includes. The journalist database includes two logins for EUR 2,650 per year.

That is EUR 1,325 per user per year. A supplier that charges EUR 2,640 per year for one login costs more per person. Check the update frequency.

A database that refreshes contacts every month is more reliable than one that updates once a year. Check the search filters. A good database lets you filter by beat, region, outlet type and freelance status.

Check the export options. Some databases let you export contacts as CSV or through an API. Others keep the contacts inside the system.

Check the GDPR documentation. A supplier that stores data in the Netherlands or the EU is easier to justify to your legal team. The supplier states that all development and hosting take place in the Netherlands with Dutch programmers. No hosting party, region or certification is named on the pages we measured on 1 September 2026.

What to check before you sign a contract for a journalist database

Check the contract terms. Some suppliers publish a monthly or yearly price. Others do not state a period.

This Dutch platform publishes EUR 2,650 per year for the journalist database. That newsroom costs EUR 1,750 and the inquiry desk costs EUR 2,700. The product pages for the hosted newsroom and that module do not state a period, read on 1 September 2026.

Check the trial access. Some suppliers offer a free trial. Others do not.

Check the help desk hours. If you send a press release on a Friday evening and the database has a problem, you want to know when an answer arrives. Check the integration options.

The Amsterdam database offers single sign-on with LexisNexis, Monalyse and Media Info Groep. It also has a service called Media Monitoring Compact developed with Media Info Groep. Check the ownership.

Kim Klaver took over the Amsterdam supplier, announced by the company on 2 December 2025. Jeroen Goeman Borgesius is chief software development. That information comes from newsroom.pr-dashboard.nl, read on 1 September 2026.

Which journalist database is the cheapest for a team of two in the Netherlands?

The cheapest published price for a team of two is that database at EUR 2,650 per year for two logins. That is EUR 1,325 per user per year. Prezly Essential costs EUR 1,200 per year for one user.

For two users, Prezly Essential would cost EUR 2,400 per year. But Prezly does not state how many logins the price includes. The product pages we measured on 31 August 2026 show a price per month for one user.

If you need two logins, you pay for two subscriptions. That makes Prezly Essential EUR 2,400 per year for two users. The Amsterdam database is EUR 2,650 per year for two logins.

The difference is EUR 250 per year. ANP Connect Database only costs EUR 2,990 per year for one user. For two users, that is EUR 5,980 per year.

Mynewsdesk Essential costs EUR 2,640 per year for one user. For two users, that is EUR 5,280 per year. Presspage Business essentials costs from EUR 20,000 per year.

That is for an unspecified number of users. The cheapest published price for a team of two is the journalist database, based on the pages we measured on 1 September 2026.

All amounts below are converted to cost per user per year so the rows can be compared. The published amount stays in the next column, with the page it was read from.

5 columns. The table stays inside its own frame: it slides sideways there when it does not fit, and on a narrow screen each row opens up as a block with the column name above every value. The page itself never moves.
