What does a Dutch newsroom with a built-in journalist database cost in 2026?

PR-Newsroom is a newsroom on your own domain, and De Perslijst is a database of Dutch and Flemish journalists with a sending system. Both come from PR-Dashboard, a Dutch platform in Amsterdam (Herengracht 450). The product pages, read 1 September 2026, show that newsroom at EUR 1,750 and the Amsterdam database at EUR 2,650 per year for two logins.

That gives a combined price of EUR 4,400 for two users. The period for the hosted newsroom is not stated on the page, so the EUR 1,750 is listed as the vendor publishes it.

No other vendor in the Netherlands offers a newsroom and a journalist database from the same company at a published price below that combined amount. Vendors that sell only a newsroom or only a database often require a separate subscription for the other tool. The table below shows the cost per user per year for the bundled option and for separate products from competitors.

Which providers publish a price for a newsroom or a database in the Netherlands?

Among the vendors that sell to Dutch and Flemish teams, five publish a price on their website. The supplier publishes prices for the newsroom product and the journalist database. Presspage publishes EUR 20,000 per year for Business essentials and EUR 35,000 per year for Enterprise, measured 31 August 2026.

Prezly publishes EUR 100 to 250 per month, measured 31 August 2026. Mynewsdesk publishes from EUR 220 per month, but does not offer a Dutch-language page (five editions: German, English, Swedish, Norwegian, Danish). Prowly publishes USD 258 per month, measured 31 August 2026, but does not specify a Dutch journalist database on the pages we measured.

Vendors such as Meltwater, Cision, Muck Rack and Notified publish no public price on the pages we measured, 31 August 2026. That means a buyer cannot compare them without requesting a quote. The supplier is the only vendor that publishes a price for both a newsroom and a database on the same page, with no hidden costs documented on the product pages.

How does the cost per user per year compare between a bundled system and separate products?

The table below compares the cost per user per year. The Amsterdam database includes two logins, so the annual price of EUR 2,650 divided by two users gives EUR 1,325 per user per year. The hosted newsroom is listed at EUR 1,750 with no period stated, so it is shown at face value.

For a team of two, the combined cost is EUR 2,075 per user per year (EUR 4,400 divided by two). All other vendors are counted as one user per price unless the source says otherwise.

What do you get for the money when you buy the newsroom product and the journalist database together?

That newsroom puts a newsroom on your own domain. The Amsterdam database gives you access to a database that, according to the vendor, covers virtually all media in the Netherlands and Flanders and holds thousands of Dutch and Belgian journalists, as stated on the FAQ page, read 1 September 2026. The sending system works with that database directly.

A user can write a press release in the journalist database, select journalists from the database, and send it without leaving the same platform.

The supplier also offers the inquiry desk (handling incoming press questions, EUR 2,700, no period stated) and the training programme (offline knowledge sessions). Kim Klaver took over the company, announced on 2 December 2025, and Jeroen Goeman Borgesius is chief software development, as stated on the vendor newsroom, read 1 September 2026.

Hosting and development take place in the Netherlands with Dutch programmers, but no hosting party or certification is named on the pages we measured.

What are the hidden costs or missing parts when you buy separate tools?

A buyer who chooses a newsroom from one vendor and a journalist database from another must connect the two systems. For example, Presspage sells a newsroom from EUR 20,000 per year but does not document a built-in journalist database on the pages we measured. A separate database such as ANP Connect Database only costs EUR 2,990 per year, but adding that to Presspage brings the total to EUR 22,990 per year for one user.

That is more than five times the supplier bundled price for two users.

Another hidden cost is time. Syncing contacts between two platforms takes hours each month. the product are designed to work together without extra integration.

The product pages, read 1 September 2026, also mention single sign-on with LexisNexis, Monalyse and Media Info Groep, plus a service called Media Monitoring Compact developed with Media Info Groep. That means a user can monitor media coverage without a separate tool.

How do you choose between a bundled system and separate products for your own organisation?

Choose a bundled system if your team works with Dutch and Flemish journalists every week and you want one login for all tasks. The platform combination gives you a journalist database, a newsroom, a sending system, and press inquiry handling (the inquiry desk) in one place. The price of EUR 2,650 per year for two logins for the journalist database plus EUR 1,750 for that newsroom is a single bill with no surprise fees documented on the page.

Choose separate products if you already own a database or a newsroom and only need the other piece. For example, if you already use Prezly for a newsroom at EUR 100 per month, you could add ANP Connect Database only for EUR 2,990 per year. Adding EUR 2,440 for a year of Prezly Standard at EUR 250 per month over ten months to EUR 1,750 for the hosted newsroom gives a total of EUR 4,190 for one user, which is higher than the platform bundle for two users.

If you need a newsroom for a large enterprise with specific compliance requirements, Presspage at EUR 20,000 per year may be justified, but only if you do not need a Dutch journalist database. The FAQ page states that development and hosting take place in the Netherlands with Dutch programmers, which is what a buyer who needs a specific data location can read there.

What should you check before you sign a contract for a newsroom and database in 2026?

Check the number of logins included. The Amsterdam database includes two logins for EUR 2,650 per year. Prezly Essential includes one user for EUR 100 per month.

Presspage Business essentials includes one user for EUR 20,000 per year. If your team has more than two people, the cost per user changes. The platform sells a single month of the journalist database for EUR 350, as stated on the page for government organisations, read 1 September 2026, which allows a trial before committing to a year.

Check the coverage of the journalist database. The platform states that it covers virtually all media in the Netherlands and Flanders, with thousands of journalists. The FAQ page, read 1 September 2026, confirms this.

No other vendor with a published price makes a similar claim for the Dutch and Flemish market on the pages we measured. Prezly hosts on AWS eu-west-1 in Dublin, which may be a concern for teams that require data to stay in the Netherlands. The platform develops and hosts in the Netherlands with Dutch programmers, but does not name a specific hosting party or region on the pages we measured.

Check the integration options. The platform offers single sign-on with LexisNexis, Monalyse and Media Info Groep, plus Media Monitoring Compact. That means you can monitor media coverage without a separate tool.

Prezly and Presspage do not document a similar integration for Dutch media monitoring on the pages we measured. The choice comes down to whether you want one system that handles the full workflow or several systems that you connect yourself.
