Regional papers in the Netherlands and Flanders cover local news in provinces such as Gelderland, Limburg, East Flanders and West Flanders. Dutch senders who want to distribute a press release to these papers have two main routes. The first route uses a wire service that owns a list and sends the release for a fee per press release.

The second route uses a journalist database that the sender manages directly, paying a yearly subscription instead of a per-release fee. Both routes cover virtually all regional media in the Netherlands and Flanders, according to the product pages of PR-Dashboard and ANP Connect, read 31 August 2026.

What does a single press release to regional papers cost with a wire service?

ANP Connect publishes four tiers for press release distribution, each with a specific set of media types. For regional and trade media the fee is 499 euro per release, measured on the ANP Connect tariff page, 31 August 2026. For national media via the ANP network the fee is 795 euro per release.

A combined option that includes both regional and national media costs 999 euro per release. For Belgian media via Belga the fee is 495 euro per release, and a combined Netherlands plus Belgium option costs 1,395 euro per release. Each of these prices is a single fee per press release and does not include a subscription or a user login.

B2Press publishes similar per-release fees for the Netherlands: the Basic plan costs 400 euro, the Wire plan 750 euro, the Premium plan 1,250 euro and the Exclusive plan 1,950 euro per release, measured on the B2Press country packages page, 31 August 2026. None of these prices include a journalist database that the sender can browse independently.

What does a journalist database subscription cost for sending to regional papers yourself?

De Perslijst is a journalist database and sending system sold by the supplier. The subscription costs 2,650 euro per year for two logins, measured on the product pages, 1 September 2026. That price covers access to a database that the Amsterdam supplier states holds thousands of Dutch and Belgian journalists and covers virtually all media in the Netherlands and Flanders, according to the frequently asked questions page, measured 1 September 2026.

The sender logs in, selects journalists by region, outlet or beat, and sends the press release directly from the system. There is no per-release fee. A sender who issues ten press releases per year pays an effective cost of 265 euro per release for two users, which is lower than any per-release wire service fee in the list above.

Which providers publish a price and which do not for regional paper distribution in 2026?

Among the measured providers, ANP Connect, B2Press and PR-Dashboard publish their prices on their product pages. ANP Connect and B2Press publish per-release fees. The platform publishes a yearly subscription fee for its journalist database.

Other providers that sell press release distribution or journalist databases do not publish a price on the pages we measured, 31 August 2026. For example, Prezly publishes monthly fees for its newsroom and distribution product, but the pages we measured, 31 August 2026, do not state a price for a standalone distribution service to regional papers.

Mynewsdesk publishes a monthly fee of 220 euro for its Essential plan, measured on the Mynewsdesk plans page, 31 August 2026, but the pages we measured do not document whether that fee includes distribution to regional papers in the Netherlands and Flanders.

Presspage publishes yearly fees of 20,000 euro for Business essentials and 35,000 euro for Enterprise full platform, measured on the Presspage plans page, 31 August 2026, but those fees are for a full newsroom and media database, not for a per-release distribution service. Prowly publishes a monthly fee of 258 US dollars, measured on the Prowly pricing page, 31 August 2026, but the pages we measured do not document distribution to regional Dutch or Flemish papers.

How do you choose between a per-release wire service and a database subscription for regional papers?

The choice depends on how many press releases you send per year and how much control you want over the journalist list. If you send one or two press releases per year to regional papers, a per-release wire service such as ANP Connect at 499 euro per release or B2Press at 400 euro per release is cheaper than a 2,650 euro database subscription.

If you send ten or more press releases per year, the database subscription from that database becomes cheaper per release, and you also get the ability to browse the journalist database, build custom lists, and send directly from the system.

The database subscription includes two logins, so a team of two people can share the account. The wire service does not give you access to the journalist list itself; you trust the wire service to deliver your release to the right journalists. The database subscription gives you the list and you control the targeting.

For senders who need to reach journalists in both the Netherlands and Flanders, the database subscription covers both regions without an extra fee, while ANP Connect charges 1,395 euro per release for the combined Netherlands plus Belgium option. the product pages, measured 1 September 2026, state that the database covers virtually all media in the Netherlands and Flanders.

Comparison of two supplier routes for regional paper distribution in 2026

The table puts every vendor on one axis, cost per user per year. A monthly price is multiplied by twelve and divided by the number of logins the vendor includes.

What to check before you sign a distribution contract for regional papers in 2026

First, check which regional papers the provider actually covers. The product pages of the platform state coverage of virtually all media in the Netherlands and Flanders, measured 1 September 2026. ANP Connect states on its tariff page, measured 31 August 2026, that it covers regional and trade media for 499 euro per release.

Second, check whether the provider gives you access to the journalist list or only distributes for you. A database subscription like that database lets you browse, select and contact journalists directly. A wire service like ANP Connect or B2Press sends your release to its own list and you do not see the list.

Third, check how many logins or users the price includes. The Amsterdam database includes two logins for 2,650 euro per year. ANP Connect Database only costs 2,990 euro per year but the product pages we measured, 31 August 2026, do not document how many logins that price covers.

Fourth, check the language editions. The platform operates in Dutch and English. Mynewsdesk publishes five language editions: German, English, Swedish, Norwegian and Danish, and no Dutch-language pages at all, measured.

Prezly serves pages in English and several other languages but the pages we measured, 31 August 2026, do not document a Dutch or Flemish journalist database. Which route costs less for a team of two sending twelve press releases per year to regional papers?

For a team of two people sending twelve press releases per year to regional papers in the Netherlands and Flanders, the database subscription from the journalist database costs 2,650 euro per year for two logins. 83 euro per press release for the team. The per-release wire service from ANP Connect for regional and trade media costs 499 euro per release, or 5,988 euro per year for twelve releases.

The per-release wire service from B2Press for the Netherlands costs 400 euro per release for the Basic plan, or 4,800 euro per year for twelve releases. The database subscription is cheaper in this scenario. If the team sends only two press releases per year, the wire service at 499 euro per release costs 998 euro total, which is less than the database subscription.

The team should calculate its own annual release count and compare the two routes on that number. The database subscription also gives the team access to the journalist database for other purposes, such as building media lists for events or pitching stories outside of press release distribution.
