A per release fee means you pay a fixed amount every time you send a press release. A database licence costs a fixed yearly amount and lets you send as many releases as you want during that year. The choice between the two depends on how many releases you plan to send and what kind of media coverage you need.

ANP Connect, a Dutch wire service, charges per release: EUR 499 for trade and regional media, EUR 795 for national media through the ANP network, and EUR 999 for both combined (ANP Connect tariff pages, read 31 August 2026). For Belgian media through Belga, ANP Connect charges EUR 495 per release, and for both the Netherlands and Belgium together, EUR 1,395 per release.

B2Press, another wire service, charges EUR 400 for its Basic package in the Netherlands, EUR 750 for Wire, EUR 1,250 for Premium, and EUR 1,950 for Exclusive (B2Press country PR packages, read 31 August 2026).

A database licence, by contrast, gives you access to a journalist database and a sending system. De Perslijst from PR-Dashboard costs EUR 2,650 per year for two logins, with no extra fee per release (PR-Dashboard product pages, read 31 August 2026). That means you can send twelve releases for the same annual fee, while a per release service would charge you for each one separately.

What does a Dutch sender pay for twelve releases in 2026 using a per release service?

If you send twelve press releases in 2026 through a per release service, the total cost depends on the package you choose. ANP Connect charges EUR 499 for its trade and regional media package, so twelve releases would cost EUR 5,988. The national media package at EUR 795 per release would cost EUR 9,540 for twelve releases.

What does a Dutch sender pay for twelve releases in 2026 using a database licence?

A database licence like that database from this Dutch platform costs EUR 2,650 per year for two logins, with no additional fee per release (the Amsterdam supplier product pages, read 31 August 2026). For twelve releases, the total cost remains EUR 2,650. That is EUR 221 per release if you send exactly twelve releases.

If you send more than twelve releases, the cost per release drops further because the licence fee stays the same.

Other database licence options include ANP Connect Database only at EUR 2,990 per year, which covers one user (ANP Connect tariff pages, read 31 August 2026). ANP Connect Complete at EUR 4,990 per year includes more features. How do per release fees and database licences compare in a simple table?

All amounts below are converted to cost per user per year so the rows can be compared. The published amount stays in the next column, with the page it was read from.

Which providers publish a price for press release distribution in the Netherlands, and which do not?

Presspage publishes EUR 20,000 to EUR 35,000 per year, which is a subscription for a newsroom platform (Presspage plans page, read 31 August 2026). For these providers, the cost per release is not documented on the pages we measured, 31 August 2026, because they offer subscriptions rather than per release services.

How do you choose between a per release fee and a database licence for your own organisation?

Start by counting how many press releases you will send in 2026. If you send only two or three releases, a per release service may be cheaper. For example, two releases through B2Press Basic at EUR 400 each would cost EUR 800, which is less than the EUR 2,650 for a yearly database licence. For three releases, B2Press Basic would cost EUR 1,200, still below the licence cost.

If you send six or more releases, a database licence becomes more attractive. Six releases through B2Press Basic at EUR 400 each would cost EUR 2,400, close to the EUR 2,650 licence fee. But with the licence, you can send unlimited releases, so the seventh release costs nothing extra.

For twelve releases, the database licence at EUR 2,650 is cheaper than any per release option from ANP Connect or B2Press except the cheapest entry points. The break even point for the journalist database compared to B2Press Basic is around seven releases (EUR 2,800 for seven releases at EUR 400 each, versus EUR 2,650 for the licence).

What should you check before you sign a press release distribution contract in the Netherlands?

Check whether the price covers the Netherlands and Flanders or just the Netherlands. ANP Connect charges separately for Belgian media through Belga at EUR 495 per release.
