Plane Catches Fire At Iran Airport, 100 Evacuated Unhurt: Report. GENEVA: An airliner took fire at landing at Tehran Mehrabad Airport on Tuesday, but all 100 passengers have been evacuated without injuries, the head of Iran’s emergency department said on state television. Pir Hossein Kolivand reported the fire broke out following the aircraft’s landing gear didn’t open correctly, and was later brought under control. The plane was a Fokker 100 belonging to Iran Air, the Fars news agency reported. The aviator wasn’t able to open the trunk of the plane and circled the airport trying to open all the wheels before landing the plane on its own body, according to Fars.
